It is Day 7 of Restriction of Movement or ROM for short. That pretty much means…well correction…that DOES mean we can’t leave our rooms or step foot outside. Fortunately, we receive box chow 3 times a day that is left out front of our rooms for us to grab only to enjoy in solitude. Thanks, COVID. I know what you all are thinking — sounds like a penitentiary — on the contrary, I’ve grown to enjoy it.

Maybe I’m just going crazy…who knows. Of the things that have been keeping me occupied…hmmm…let’s see — working out: which consists mostly of the same movements over and over until I get blue in the face. I did acquire a 50lb kettlebell, pullup bar, and a medicine ball though so that’s a win. I’ve been reading, writing, playing spades, and poker with my head mate John and taking time to self reflect.

Another positive thing — from my window, which is located on the first floor facing one of the most luxurious trash piles you’ve ever seen I mean seriously it’s pretty impressive — a modern-day wonder of the world. Every morning I open the window and take a deeeeeepppp breath in of that “fresh” air , and say good morning to the Marines walking outside my window on the street.

Oh, I almost forgot — I’ve started the process to apply to grad school to pursue my MBA. I’ve been reaching out to former Veterans and setting up facetime calls with them at some of the top universities to get a better insight into the application process. I’m thinking my top 5 now are Mccombs at UTexas, Ross School of Business at UMichigan, Tuck at Dartmouth, Harvard School of Business, and Boothe School of Business at UChicago...Northwestern Kellogg School of B comes in a close 6.

Well, that pretty much wraps up my day. it’s about 1 pm here, and I bet it’s already reached its climax — two more box chows to go…(knock, knock, knock) holy crap the second meal just arrived…make that one more meal. I almost spoke too soon. LET’S GOOOOOOO!!!

Stay Motivated.

Semper Fi.
